Acupuncture with Dr. Said Faulwell

Acupuncture unlocks the body’s natural healing potential. An ancient form of medicine, acupuncture is a powerful tool to regain and enhance one’s quality of life. Dr. Said Faulwell is a doctor of acupuncture and Chinese Medicine located in West Los Angeles. We provide comprehensive and effective treatments for pain, infertility, insomnia, and many other conditions.

Acupuncture developed in China three thousand years ago. Hair-thin, sterile needles are inserted into specific points on the surface of the skin. Acupuncture is the oldest form of medicine that is still widely used today; it can effectively relieve pain and regulate organ function.

Ancient Medicine/Modern Research

According to modern research, acupuncture helps regulate circulation. The heart and blood vessels distribute blood to every tissue in the human body. Blood carries oxygen and nutrients to the cells in order to promote healing and proper function. Like water to a plant, proper blood flow is vital to our physiology. Acupuncture causes a dilation of local blood vessels and also balances vascular tone throughout the body. Acupuncture facilitates this natural healing process in order to speed up repair and improve function.

Acupuncture also has an effect on the autonomic nervous system. The nerves in our body connect the organs and muscles to the brain. The autonomic nervous system is the auto pilot of our body. It controls the breath, the speed and strength of the heart, digestion and sleep patterns. Through analyzing heart performance and brain imaging before and after an acupuncture treatment, we now know that acupuncture helps regulate the autonomic nervous system to improve digestion, sleep, and tissue repair.

Finally, acupuncture increases endorphin levels in the brain. These “happy hormones” are naturally produced pain relievers and mood elevators. They help the neurons in the brain communicate effectively and endorphins also play a role in the endocrine system.

I specialize in classical Chinese and Korean styles of acupuncture. Graduating at the top of my class, I earned my Masters of Oriental Medicine from Emperor’s College, ranked second in the nation. I then earned my clinical Doctorate from Pacific College of Health and Science. I have interned as an acupuncturist for the Disney Cancer Center in Glendale, CA. I have earned the distinction of Diplomate of Oriental Medicine from the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I have worked hard to develop a gentle but effective acupuncture style, mainly using points on the arms, legs and back. I spend time with each patient to discover the underlying cause of their condition. During your first visit, I offer a complete review of systems so that I can create a specialized treatment approach for each patient.

Traditional Chinese Medicine is both ancient and cutting edge. Acupuncture treats the cause of disease, not just the symptoms. My mission is to provide a high quality and affordable alternative medicine.

“I am writing this because Said Faulwell has impressed me with his professional manner and calming presence during the acupuncture treatments he gave me. I received treatment for my arm that has been injured at birth. With his treatments I have a greatly improved movement in my arm, and it helped to reduce the stiffness and stimulate circulation.

In my foot he has helped with the pain of a collapsing arch. After each treatment, I can feel improvements, he balances my chi. It stimulates my energy, a boost of positive attitude and a tremendous sense of well being.

I have had many treatments of acupuncture, but Said is one of the best. He has a very calming manner; he asks pertinent questions and gives a very good treatment. I particularly like the short needles and placement in the hands and feet only. Thank you for all your help, and I will continue to use your services when needed.

Sincerely,

Danielle Boisson”
